 | Description: Exciting and rare set of four Regency, circa 1817, Matthew Boulton, of Birmingham, sterling silver candlesticks, two matched pair. The pieces are of an excellent neo - classical form, with cast acanthus and gadroon bands, with a shell design on the foot. The removable bobeches and the simple round foot are each hallmarked, with the British purity mark, reign mark, maker's mark, Birmingham city mark, and letter date mark, as well as with the numbers "22:11." The pieces are weighted in the base, with pitch, likely have a brass rod in the center, as well. Included with the remarkable set are two matched early 20th century Sheffield plate three arm candelabra inserts. Condition: Very good, very little wear.
