The piece is the original for his much loved serigraph "Beetle Battle." Signed in the lower right corner. Framed by Frame House Galleries. Description: Mumei Katana, of a regal 19th century setting, and a circa 1700 Bizen blade. This beautiful piece features an orange and gold lacquered saya, with mon decoration and bronze washed steel fittings (Ishi-dzuki, tawara-byo, seme, Shiba-biki, ashi and Koiguchi), a matching tsuba,fuchi and Kashira, the tsuka is ray skin, with floral, kamon and figural menuki. The tama, at the end of the silk cords are bronze. The circa 1700 Bizen blade is unmarked. A copy of Sotheby's appraisal and written description is available upon request.
Condition: Some wear on the blade, but no major flaws, minor wear throughout, a little bit of loss of lacquer on the saya, near the tsuka end, but good for age overall.

Description: Kunisada Katana, of a brown lacquered early 20th century saya, with ray skin and silk wrapped tsuka, with bronze floral menuki. The blade is marked "August 1669, Province Idzumi Kwambum Sehsu Shinkai Kuni Sada," but has been judges a false signature. The saya also features bronze mounts (Ishi-dzuki, Shiba-biki and single ashi. The fuchi features a button release. Please note that EBTH was unable to remove the blade from the tsuka, we are reliant upon written appraisals as authentication. A copy of Sotheby's appraisal will be available by request.
Condition: Good overall, the blade is very good, there is some wear on the saya and tsuka, some separation of the koiguchi from the saya.
