 | Description: Wakizashi, late 19th century, of a black lacquered saya, with delicate pattern, a ray skin and silk cord wrapped tsuka, a gilt iron tsuba with farming motif, gilt iron koiguchi and kashira with floral design, and a pair of gilt iron menuki, with floral motif. Also included is the small blade, which fits into the saya, with gilt iron handle, with an iris design. The blade is unmarked, but is period. EBTH was not able to remove the blade from the tsuka, please preview, or review the extensive photographs for the best sense of the piece. A copy of Sotheby's appraisal will be available by request. Condition: Good overall, some wear to the tsuka, small blade and the blade of the wakizaschi, a small dent in the blade edge in the monouchi area, but overall fine.
