 | Description: Mumei katana, of a late 19th, early 20th century military setting, features a Shinto period blade, with a metal saya, wrapped in leather, an iron tsuba, with wave pattern, matching gilt iron fuchi and kashira, with scholars on one side of the fuchi, and a man in a boat on the verso. The kashira has a warrior motif. The tsuka is ray skin wrapped with silk cord and features a floral, gilt menuki. Also includes a leather cover for the tsuka. A copy of Sotheby's appraisal will be available by request.
Condition: All pieces are intact, with some age consistent wear to all pieces, some minor wear on the blade.
